Our Origin & Story

History
Laurels School International started with seventeen students and two teachers in 1989. Today, each certified leader and provider is guided by the overarching vision of directors, Dr. John M. Chacko and Ms. Jaya Chacko: “Imparting knowledge.” Their will to excel in this endeavor and to go about it in an organized systematic and professional way has been a key factor in this story of success.
Background
In spite of the few numbers, the school stood apart because of the perfect ambiance and environment in which the children played and studied. In the year 1991, the school shifted to 7, Press Complex – premises, especially designed to suit the academic needs. The school patterned its education according to the norms prescribed by CISCE i.e. The Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. In the year 1997, the ICSE affiliation was approved. Laurels became the only school in Western M.P. to have International accreditation through the ICSE board. After the affiliation, the school introduced a foreign language – German to be taught from class VI onwards. In 2005, the school shifted to the new premises at Talavali Chanda. The endeavor was to go beyond academics and focus on sports and other extracurricular activities to encourage all round personality development. In 2016, the Pre-primary section at 7, Press Complex was upgraded to recreate a colorful and cheerful ambiance where group learning was incorporated. Today, nearly every teacher and the student has benefited from the quality education provided at the school, which has been proven with the remarkable results and outcomes till date.

Our Motto & Emblem

“Respect to God is the beginning of wisdom”

Our motto has been inspired from the profound words of the Great King Solomon the wise as inscribed in the Holy Bible (Proverb 1:7).

It fosters the spirit of reverence, devotion, love and selfless service to all especially to our country, neighbors, family, friends and to God, the Almighty.

Laurel, the wreath symbolizes fame, victory, honor and distinction under the watchful eyes and protective wings of an Eagle. For the flying Eagle, the sky is the limit and so as also for our students. The school prepares its students to fly out as versatile individuals to accomplish their mission in life.

Our Philosophy

“Education is a natural process carried out by the child and not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment” – Dr. Maria Montessori

The philosophy behind education at Laurels is based on experiential learning. We strive to balance competence in using sophisticated technology with the richness of a humanistic education. Students’ individual interests are encouraged and supported while essential skills are carefully honed.
