To hone the debating skills of the students, Laurels School International witnessed ‘The Crossfire Connoisseur’ on October 19, 2019. The topic for the debate was “For Sustainable and Faster Economic Growth, India needs innovative social approach” which was proposed by the retired Indian Police Service Officer and current Lt. Governor of Puduchery, Dr. Kiran Bedi . 

The jury members for this competition were Rt. Lt. Col. Dr. Pramod Deogirkar, Mr. Dev Jagwani and Dr. Geeta Choudhary. Students from various renowned schools like the St. Raphael’s, Queens’ College, Shishukunj International School, Sri Sathya Sai Vidhya Vihar, The Emerald Heights International School, Delhi Public School, Choithram School, Manik Bagh and Laurels School International – the host school actively participated in the event. All the participants put forth their views for and against the motion. 

St. Raphael’s H. S School walked away with the rolling trophy for “The Best Team”

Ms. Amatulla Abdabhaiwala from St. Raphael’s H. S. School was adjudged as ‘The Best Speaker’ and was awarded with a cash prize of 7500, a trophy and a certificate of merit.

The 1st runners-up was Ms. Nurvi Bhand of Delhi Public School who received a cash prize of 5000 and a certificate. The 2nd runners –up for the competition was Ms. Aashka Zaveri of The Emerald Heights International School who received a cash prize of 3000 and a certificate of merit. The CMD Dr. John M. Chacko, the Directors, Ms. Jaya Chacko and Ms. Jennifer Chacko, Principal, Dr. Anshu Deshmukh and Vice Principal Ms. Thara Nair along with the judges awarded the winners. The Vote of thanks was proposed by the School Captain Mast. Ishit Mishra.
