Independence day celebration and Investiture ceremony at Laurels School InternationalSaluting the nation and its freedom fighters on India’s 72nd Independence Day, Laurels School International with its management, staff, teachers and students celebrated the occasion. The event commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Ms. Smita Bharadwaj- Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Financial Corporation. Followed by the welcome speech of the Principal, Dr. Anshu Deshmukh, the Chief Guest in her address to the audience suggested the students to be responsible and try to build leadership qualities in them. She also highlighted that boys should be taught to respect women and girls. The students Sherya Soni and Priyal Manihar delivered speeches in solemn reminder of the sacrifices of the martyrs and paid homage to them. A PPT by Mast. Mahak Jain depicting the same was also played. This was accompanied by the Investiture ceremony in which the reign of responsibility was handed to the newly elected council members. Master Vasu Garg was elected as the school captain, Vice Captain Miss Aparna Singh Tomar, Exective Captain (Houses) Miss Fatema Patanwala, and Exective Captain (activity) Miss Sakina Hakimi. Thereafter, started the cultural program with patriotic fervor comprising of a beautiful song and a contemporary dance depicting women empowerment. The program ended with the vote of thanks proposed by the Vice Principal Ms. Thara Nair.
