GREEN HOPE CELEBRATIONS AT LAURELS SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL, INDORE
Laurels School International celebrated a three day ‘Green Hope’ programme keeping in account the concern for the environment and environmental issues. It is the vision of the Director Ms. Jaya Chacko which began as a mission 11 years ago and is consistently observed since then. The programme was graced by the presence of the HR Advisor Mr.Anil Chhibber, Principal Dr. Anshu Deshmukh and Vice –Principal Ms. Thara Nair.
The inauguration programme began with oath taking ceremony by the salvites who were administered oath by the Principal Dr.Anshu Deshmukh .A mime conveying message ‘Save Trees’ was effectively presented by the junior students. Senior students presented a street play with a message to save environment.
Radhika sugandhi, the newly selected salvite leader expressed her concern over the depleting environment and promised to take the mission ahead with a positive approach.Vote of thanks was proposed by Vice Principal Ms.Thara Nair.
The students went for Sapling distribution to Royal Greens, Dream city and City Administrative Block .Students also carried out a plantation drive at Nehru Park.
A rally by class one and two students was taken out to promote the idea of ‘Save our Planet’ at an early age .Students went to Treasure Island with installation of a model of planet Earth Tiny tots from the pre-primary Section spread the message of Green Hope with the help of finger puppets.
A human chain by students was formed outside C-21 Mall to promote the idea of spreading greenery.Students also distributed book marks made out of leaves and waste material with the same message.
The third day observed an awareness programme wherein Dr. Sudhir Khetawat addressed the students regarding the ways to protect environment and animals, particularly the Peacock population in Talavali Chanda.
A cleanliness drive was undertaken by the students whereby they cleaned the classrooms. The programme was a great success.
