Crossfire Connoisseur Competition (an Inter-School Debate with a difference)
The Crossfire Connoisseur competition was organized at Laurels School International, Indore on October 08, 2016. The topic for the debate was ‘Business is a force for good in society’ which was proposed by the famous industrialist Mr.Ratan N. Tata. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp by the guests and the Directors. The jury for the competition consisted of eminent personalities from the city namely Mr. Meethesh Jha Founding Partner of Piezen,Ms Payal Mediratta, English and soft skill trainer and Ms Veena Chhibber,HOD Training and Development IPSA. Students from many prestigious schools like Choithram School,Queens’ College, Progressive Education II, Shishukunj International, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar and St. Raphael’s Higher Secondary School participated in the event. The orators put forward their points logically and with great conviction. The jury appreciated the presentations of the students and gave valuable tips to the students for excelling their oration skills . Dr. John M Chacko in his echo speech appreciated the winners and the participants. The best team announced by the Vice-Principal Ms Thara Nair was the Shishukunj International School. The best speaker trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. seven thousand and certificate was awarded to Ms Ananta Barvey of Queens’ College. The first Runner-Up was Ms. Chelsea Savlani of Choithram School who received a cash prize of Rs.five thousand and a certificate and the second Runner-Up for the competition was Ms Pious Khemka of Shishukunj International School who received a cash prize of Rs. three thousand and a certificate. The vote of thanks was proposed by the school School Captain Mast Rahul Gome and the programme was compered by Ms Asha Robin.
