Crossfire Connoisseur Competition 2017
Laurels School International, Indore witnessed ‘The Crossfire Connoisseur’ on October 7, 2017. The topic for the debate was ‘Effects of reservation policy on the meritocracy of India’s future’ which was proposed by the famous film and TV personality Mr. Nitish Bharadwaj.
The program was presided over by the CMD Dr. John M. Chacko, the Director Ms. Jennifer Chacko, Vice Principal Ms. Thara Nair and HR Head Mr. Anil Chhiber. The jury members for this competition were Ms. Smita Rathore, Dr. Kanhaiya Ahuja and Mr. Jagwant Singh Mangat. Students from various schools like the Queens’ College, MSB Educational Institute, Shishukunj International School, Sri Sathya Sai Vidhya Vihar, St. Paul H. S. School, St. Raphael’s H. S. School and Laurels School International – the host school actively participated in the event.
The Crossfire Connoisseur Competition is an annual debating event started in the year 2004 by Laurels School International, Indore, as a platform for young speakers to exchange and debate on topics and issues of social relevance. Ever since its inception the topics for the competition have been received from esteemed dignitaries like Dr. A.P.J Kalam, Dr. Prannoy Roy, Mr. P. Chidambaram to name a few.
St. Raphael’s H. S. School walked away with the rolling trophy for “The Best Team”
Miss Ketaki Pole was adjudged as ‘The Best Speaker ’ of St. Raphael’s H. S. School and was awarded with a cash prize of 7000 and a certificate of merit.
The 1st runners-up was Ms. Alka Parida of St. Raphael’s H. S. School who received a cash prize of 5000 and a certificate. The 2nd runners –up for the competition was Ms. Vedika Chawla of Shishukunj International School who received a cash prize of 3000 and a certificate of merit.
The Vote of thanks was proposed by the Executive School Captain Mast. Arham Bhandari
